I am an experienced graphic designer with 17 years experience in both print and digital design. I have worked for both large corporates and startups. I am available for freelance design as well as being open to opportunities for full-time employment or time-specific contracts. If you are looking for cost-effective design, please chat with me!
Starting as a junior designer and photo-researcher straight from school I have gained a Bachelor of Communications studying part-time at Massey University. I gained certificates in excellence in several of my papers, including speech writing and interpersonal communication.
I have continued to up-skill myself as the industry has moved from a primarily print-centric market to an online digital market.
I had the pleasure of working for several large publishing houses such as Harper Collins (NZ) and Pearson (NZ) in their heyday. I was the Digital Design Manager for a digital education start-up that was absorbed by Telco Technology Ltd.
For another 18 months I was Digital Design Manager responsible for the management of six e-pub designers; briefing and overseeing of UI/UX design, contributing to developmental editing of manuscripts and ensuring e-pubs were delivered to budget and on-time.
More recently I have taken a year off full-time work to complete a Diploma in Web and Design at Yoobee. Since school I have adopted the label Abstract for many of my projects and AbstractCDP is my latest iteration for my freelance design work as it sums up what I offer as a designer – content creation, design and photography. I am highly experienced in most of the Adobe suite and I consider myself an outstanding user of Photoshop. I am an excellent editor and offer experience in writing content for marketing use and education resources.
I love photography and have done a range of paid photography gigs over the years – sports, commercial products, social media and weddings.
I believe in a collaborative approach to design: Brainstorm, Research, Design, Unveil, Produce!
